I opened my first studio in the late 1990s, where I taught for fifteen years until relocating to Cape Town. I continued to teach and opened my second studio in 1997 in the southern suburbs; a modest, but inviting and well-equipped space with a generous view of Table Mountain. My passion for the ceramics medium veers heavily towards ‘handwork’ and ‘dabble’ in wheel work, among other techniques.

The National and Regional exhibitions represent a regular opportunity to  challenge myself and further hone my craft, having won the Reindeers award and the Fellows award in 2015, while encouraging my more experienced students to do the same. I have the current privilege of being mentored by Ralph Johnson. I believe teaching is the best form of learning and the artform of ceramics represents a fantastic opportunity to engage with friends and community, which is why I regularly host ceramics classes for team builds, and children’s holiday workshops.
